Techcrunch posted about “The 30 Best iPhone Apps So Far This Year”. Personally I do not keep many iPhone Apps in my iPhone, if I found the Apps is not good and I’m sure I will delete immediately. Just wonder how many ‘so called’ Best iPhone Apps you have so far as posted below.

1. Angry Birds
Launch birds from a slingshot to topple buildings and crush piggies. There’s a reason this game has been No. 1 on the Paid List for so long. Addictive only starts to explain it.

2. Plants Vs Zombies
Protect your home from an invasion of zombies by placing plants that shoot, freeze, blow-up, crush, or generally obliterate your foes.

3. Fruit Ninja
Swipe to slice 3D fruit as it enters your screen. Great visuals and gratifying delivery.

4. Archetype
One of the best 3D arena shooters for the iPhone. Smooth multiplayer and easy handling. If you’re going to play a first-person shooter on the go, this is the one.

5. Rhythm Spirit
A rhythm-fighting game based on Japanese folklore. Very unique with top-notch production values. Can’t go wrong with ninjas, fighting, and music.

6. Ragdoll Blaster 2
Sequel to the fun and creative physics game. Blast ragdolls out of your canon to hit various targets. Tons of levels and really interesting puzzles.

7. Canabalt
The iPhone version of the popular flash game. Original escape game where you run away from impending doom, dodging obstacles and crashing through windows.

8. Chaos Rings
One of the few games priced above $10 that sold really well. A deep RPG with fantastic graphics from Square Enix.

9. The Horrible Vikings
A trajectory game steeped in style. Launch your vikings to hit enemies and items alike. A full upgrade system and use of power-ups adds nice depth.

10. Trenches
Fun side-scrolling strategy game where you employ the use of soldiers, machine guns, rifles and bombs to destroy your enemy.

11. God Finger
Keep your followers healthy and working. Create buildings, farms, and taverns for your peasants to enjoy. Control the weather and become the dictator of your own little world.

12. Parachute Ninja
Fling your ninja ball through the air in this interesting platformer. Reach higher and higher platforms, while avoiding obstacles and enemies.

13. Pocket Legends
This MMORPG deserves attention for an ambitious endeavor. Choose a class and work on leveling up, meeting strangers, and battling enemies.

14. Monkey Island 2
Sequel to one of the best adventure games ever released. More humor, puzzles, and story that we’ve come to expect from this classic series.

15. Zenonia 2
Followup to the hit action RPG Zenonia. With more playable classes, abilities, items, story and artwork, this is a must-have for RPG fans.

16. Foursquare
The quintessential geo-social app, Foursquare allows users to ‘Check in’ to locations to earn points and broadcast their location. Get more Check-Ins than anyone and you become the mayor.

17. Groupon
Groupon is a service that offers an extremely marked down deal every day. From restaurants to spas, users have been excited about Groupon since it came out. All the same convenience on your iPhone.

18. iMovie
It made sense for Apple to bring their casual video editing software over to the iPhone when the 4 launched with hi-def recording. Very solid tool for on-the-go editing.

19. Siri Assistant
Your own personal assistant. Ask it for directions. Reminders. General information. Nearly anything. Fun and useful for anyone on the go.

20. Twitter
The official Twitter has become the best out of them all. Contains all the features you need.

21. Wolfram
After dropping dramatically from the $50 price tag, Wolfram has become a fantastic knowledge searching tool based on Wolfram Alpha.

22. iBooks
I know, I know. This is a given. Provided with iOS 4.0, iBooks is the defacto book reader. Even so, it’s worth a mention for how elegant and easy it is to use compared to other readers.

23. Hulu Plus
This is something we have been waiting for a while. The downside is that it only offers content for the paid service—not for free as it is on the web. But, if you can pony up the monthly fee, this is a great app.

24. Gowalla
Similar to Foursquare, Gowalla allows users to ‘check in’ to a location to earn stamps. Based on GPS, it’s very addictive earning stamps and a great companion while you are out and about.

25. Dragon Dictation
Finally, an accurate way to dictate voice to text on the iPhone. Speak naturally to send a text message, email, or anything else that can receive inputted text.

26. Free App A Day
FAAD is an interesting service that works with developers to offer up their paid apps for free for a short time period. If you follow the iPhone app, you can snatch up some big name apps, gratis.

27. JotNot Scanner Pro
Make your iPhone into a multi-page scanner. Has a great image enhancing ability and makes saving and sending scans pretty effortless.

28. Text’nDrive
For those of us with a habit of checking (or even worse, responding to) email while we drive, this app provides a hands-free solution where new messages are read to you and you can respond by voice.

29. Geodelic
An elegant “Around Me” style app showing everything that is near your location. Fun way to discover things you didn’t know existed.

30. Digg
Digg finally made an official app and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Users can look forward to all the same functionality as the native site, as well as easy saving and sharing.

Playing iPhone Games Without Crash

I was getting an email from one of the reader few days back regarding his iPhone problem which SpringBoard always crash while playing games. I would suggest you try SwapMode, an application from Cydia(jailbreak your iPhone if you wanna try this).

Basically SwapMode will allow you to switch between normal and game mode. Game Mode will turn off background services and SpringBoard Extensions such as SBSettings, iHome, etc. Your device will behaves as if it is freshly jailbroken with no app and extension installed, thus reducing the chances of system crash during game play. Normal Mode: Revert device to normal operation. Re-boot if necessary should it experience any abnormality.

Go to your iPhone Cydia and search for Swapmode and install.

Previously we talked about 10 Best Apple iPhone Games, today I would like to share 10 Must Have iPhone Games.

DeerHunter 3D ($5.99)
If you’re a fan of arcade hunting games like Big Buck Hunter, you’ll love DeerHunter 3D. The game lets you track deer footprints on your map, and when you get close enough, go in for the kill. Unlock cool extras like a scope for far-away shots, and keep yourself still and your aim true using the Steady button.

Fieldrunners ($2.99)
There are lots of tower-defense-style games in the App Store, but Fieldrunners is my favorite. Install different types of defense towers across the battlefield to keep enemy soldiers, tanks, helicopters, and zeppelins from infiltrating your base.

Flight Control ($0.99)
Think you’ve got what it takes to be an air traffic controller? Flight Control will change your mind about that. The game involves setting flight paths to safely direct jumbo jets to the large runway, smaller prop planes to the airstrip, and helicopters to the helipad. The premise is simple, but the game play is tough.

iFighter ($0.99)
iFighter is a new take on the classic top-down shoot-’em-up, in which you fly your fighter plane through scrolling levels, dodging bullets and taking out the bad guys. Need for Speed: Undercover ($9.99)
This is hands-down the best racing game for the iPhone, which is saying something because there are lots of racing games for the iPhone. Like most of them, Need for Speed: Undercover uses your phone’s accelerometer to steer the car, and you use the touch screen to brake or give yourself a nitrous speed boost. The game play is challenging, the cut scenes are beautiful, and there’s even a decent story line to hold your interest.

SimCity ($4.99)
EA has managed to cram an amazing amount of bells and whistles into this mobile version of the classic municipal administration game. The visuals are great, and the strategies and game play hew close to the original SimCity that you remember from 20 years ago.

Texas Hold’em ($4.99)
Apple’s own poker game is one of the best card games in the App Store. Hold your phone vertically to see your opponents’ faces and look for tells as they play, or turn it horizontal to see the whole table and speed the game up a bit.

UniWar ($3.99)
UniWar is a turn-based strategy game that turns interstellar war into a kind of chess match. The goal is to capture your enemy’s bases using an army composed of different types of soldiers and vehicles, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Every level demands a different strategy to win, and you won’t beat it quickly.

Wolfenstein 3D Classic ($1.99)
This game is a throwback to the original Wolfenstein 3D first-person shooter. Honestly, its main appeal might be nostalgia—the graphics and controls are way beneath what the iPhone is capable of—but Wolfenstein is still a fun Nazi-killing romp.

Playing a game on Apple iPhone is my favorite and I would like to share Top 10 best Apple iPhone Games.

Note: Some of the game may not apply in Malaysia.

1. Wolfenstein 3D Classic ($2)
Quite possibly the best iPhone game in existence. 60 huge levels, laid out precisely as you remember them. Smooth, functional controls (touch or tilt – your choice!), designed by the original creator and legendary designer John Carmack. What could be better? Only the upcoming port of Doom.

2. Metal Gear Solid Touch ($8) – US Only
Don’t expect any stealth. Touch is basically a glorified shooting gallery, set in Metal Gear Solid 4 environments against Metal Gear Solid 4 baddies. The graphics are so good and the gunplay mechanics are so satisfying, however, that you probably won’t mind a bit. Earning up to 50 reward wallpapers only adds to the bargain.

3. Myst ($6)
What felt dated by modern PC standards – the static screens, repetitive sound effects, cheesy video and limited movement – now seems perfectly streamlined for on-the-go iPhone gaming. Let’s hope this is just the beginning of a portable point-and-click resurgence.

4. Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles ($10)
You won’t find another free-roaming sandbox with current-gen graphics, but you will get a surprisingly deep, remarkably fun platforming game in the mold of last-gen Prince of Persia. You’ll also get 6-8 hours of mobile entertainment for half the cost of the DS version.

5. Vay ($5)
This is an entire old-school role-playing game crammed into a tiny icon on your phone screen. Every dungeon. Every town. Every hero, villain and plot twist. Every monster, weapon and spell. While Vay is not the best or most memorable example of its genre, what other app can give you 40-50 hours of play for just $5?

6. Spore Origins ($5) – US Only
For a casual, beginner-friendly adaptation of the Spore experience, this app is unexpectedly wonderful. Mind, it’s been drastically reduced… you now worry only about a single cell creature in a small petri dish. Tilting your little fella to feed on other spores is addictive, however, and customizing his body for greater offense and defense provides fantastic replay value. You can even pattern your spore with photos stored on your iPhone. Super nifty and, at the current price, highly recommended.

7. De Blob ($4)
The premise of De Blob is incredibly simple – why complicate matters with a battery-sucking infrared remote, tangled Nunchuk cord and finicky sensor bar? Here, the gameplay is obvious. Swipe or tilt the phone to move the blob and paint objects. Tap INKT agents to squish them. That’s all you really need to know. Instantly engaging… and a bargain, since the upcoming DS version will no doubt retail for six times as much.

8. Ocarina ($1)
You might only play it once or twice, but you’ll pull it out at parties to show off your iPhone to friends and strangers for months to come. And if you do decide to get serious? This thing truly functions as a musical instrument and can be mastered. Listen to uploaded samples from around the world in the global sharing submenu if you don’t believe.

9. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR ($10) – US Only
Hard to believe, considering the publisher and the hefty charge, but Tiger Woods on iPhone is a terrific buy. Almost everything you love about the console games has been fit in here: the licensed courses, the extensive tournaments, the professional cameos, the character generator, the precise control scheme and over 120 holes to choose between.

10. Need for Speed Undercover ($10) – US Only
The app store offers dozens of racing games, but Need for Speed Undercover is the best by far. The graphics are spectacular – you could easily mistake this for a PSP title – and the play modes are varied.
