There are rumors on the internet said that the next generation of iPhone/iPod Touch will support:
1) WiFi networking on 802.11n. Current version of iPhone is only supported 802.11a on 5GHz and 802.11b/g on 4GHz. 802.11n is with faster speed and more power saving compare to 802.11a/b/g.

As previous post mentioned, Skype for iPhone is launched. And now, it become the most fast selling applications on iTune within these 2 years. It already get more then 1 million download within the 2 days after it luanch. In the first 2 days of sales, it hits about 6 downloads every second.
BUT, altough this is a free application, and so many iPhone users downloaded it, we got to know from Twitter, this version of Skype for iPhone is not user friendly enough, and still have a lot of bugs. Twitter users mention that it gives strange error from time to time. This version of Skype, is only supporting WiFi, which also become one of the limitation for most of the iPhone users to complain.
Let’s hope the coming version will get all these solved.
Thanks for reading.

On 2nd April 2009, Apple announce that they are releasing iPhone firmware 3.0 Beta 2. And on the next day (3rd April 2009), RebelSim announce that their RebelSim v61 is still able to unlock this version of firmware and baseband (iPhone Firmware 3.0 Beta 2, Baseband 4.22.01.). This is a good news to those who already got their RebelSim, or those that going to purchase it.
As of now, RebelSim v61 is able to unlock:
- iPhone Firmware 2.2, Baseband 2.28.00 (You don’t need RebelSim, Since Yellowsn0w can do the job for free.)

- iPhone Firmware 3.0 Beta 2, Baseband 04.22.01 (I have no heard anything out there can do this, except this one.)
So, If you are thinking of upgrading to Firmware 3.0 Beta 2, AND you successed on the jailbreak with the tool that is mentioned in previous post. You will need this RebelSim v61 to unlock your phone to work with your Mobile Service Provider simcard.

Apple just release the iPhone 3.0 Firmware Beta 2 yesterday (2nd April 2009).
As we remember, the announcement of the release of iPhone 3.0 Firmware Beta (consider this is Beta 1) was just two weeks back.
What does this mean? One reason, this means that the Beta 1 is having a lot of BUGS.
All of us know that iPhone 3.0 is now possible to jailbreak, but as far as I know, it is still not able to unlock yet. But, even you are having a Globally unlock iPhone, it is better for you to stay on current version of firmware. Unless you are one of the developer in one of the development teams that writes iPhone Applications. Since you will be clam enough if you find out these bugs. An end user like me will only scold and throw (may be, anyone please stop me to do this, if I do…) the phone away.

As mention in previous post:
I found a way to disable the 3G or/and EDGE on your iPhone. You can enable it anytime you like if you need it.
Try out this application: BossPrefs
(You may get it from Cydia for FREE.)
You can use this application to
- Disable/Enable 3G (Disable this to save you tons of money)
- Disable/Enable EDGE (Disable this to save you tons of money, since it charged the same rate as 3G)
- Disable/Enable WiFi (Any reason we need to do this? As far as I know, NO.)
- Disable/Enable Bluetooth (Good feature, why should I disable it?)

Have you face problem on your iPhone when you reboot and you stuck on the Apple Logo forever? I did.
When I am at that situation, I am very panic, I mean, VERY… I am so worry that I bricked my iPhone… cry…
I search through the web to find a solution to solve the issue. And finally, I got one which is working.
Get your phone boot into DFU mode (Device Firmware Update). Here the guide:

I am not sure this is a good news or bad news for all of us. AT&T will launch Contract-Free iPhone 3G into US market by tomorrow (26th March 2009).
Not quite sure whether you all know, the way we bring in iPhone from US.
For iPhone 2G 8GB last time, we can buy the phone direct from Apple with the cost of USD399, then with Tax at about 6-7%, and you are good to go with your iPhone. Whether you going to sign contract with AT&T or Jailbreak it, it’s non of the shoppers business.
But for iPhone 3G now, AT&T changed the way. First, you need to be US citizen to get the iPhone 3G with USD199. If you are not, you need to pay USD500 “deposit”. AND you need to sign the package with your credit card. The “plan” with AT&T is about USD60 per month. So, no matter you use the phone in US or not, you need to pay the USD60 every month for 24 months, from your credit card directly. So, this way doesn’y work for us. If you want to cancel the contract, you can pay an one off USD200 to cancel it (not sure is going through legal way or not). It is a HIGH price to get one of these, right?
Now, AT&T Launch Contract-Free iPhone 3G!
